“I am running for the Idaho Falls city council to ensure that as a community we maintain and build upon the feeling of connectivity that is so important to our beautiful city.”

- LISA BURTENSHAW

LISA’S TO DO LIST:

  • Focus on maintaining and improving our current parks and amenities:

    • Fix/replace the sprinkler/irrigation systems in our parks.

    • Improve lighting throughout the parks and trail systems.

    • Support the timely completion of currently funded projects to rebuild the Skyline Tennis courts and the installation of the new dehydration system at the Aquatic Center.

    • Grand opening of Heritage Park along the west bank of the Snake River, with a newly constructed irrigation system and landscaping.

  • Champion The Tautphaus Park Master Plan:

    • Fun Land at the Zoo

    • New Zoo Entrance

    • Splash Pad

  • Look to private/public partnerships, Federal Grant monies to increase amenities in the city of Idaho Falls including new fields, a community center, trails and increased connectivity throughout the city.

  • Traffic is becoming an issue in the city. Advocate for solutions through development planning to address issues of sprawl, infill and pro-actively create the necessary road and intersection improvements to both city and commercial amenities in high growth areas.

  • Relocate and replace the water tower. The water tower supplies pressure to all of the wells and is of an age and condition that it needs to be replaced. This relocation will necessitate the city to convert the land being taken for the water tower, and this compliance will allow the city to be eligible for matching federal dollars to build and improve parks across the city.

  • Pass policies to help soften our housing market so that future generations are not completely priced out of the Idaho Falls housing market.

  • Maintain budget oversight for the construction and commissioning of the Law Enforcement Center to ensure that it is built on time and within budget.
